Pear took me to a temple to release some fish into a pond. This pond was huge and the fish were swimming in this pond were also HUGE. I thought to myself, Pear you are doing your little dinky fish no favors by releasing them into this pond…these little guys are going to have to swim for their lives! But, for Pear this is part of the Buddhist teaching of making Merit. She bought this fish from a food market and then lets them go. . . hmmm it is interesting…
We fed the fish some food and I saw four puppies and thought, hell I am going to give this fish food, which happens to smell like dog food, to the puppies. Pear wasn’t too sure why I was doing this but I thought I would rather make merit with puppies…the puppies and the fishies all had a feast. After there was a lot of lounging around and Sean and I were both getting a little worse for wear. Home by 6 pm, to a cranky and hungry Sydney.
January 2
Today we took our first long tail boat to West Railey Beach. It was nice to get out and see a thing or two. Nice ride, great beach and overpriced food and Richy Rich bought me a dress and some shorts (ahhh, finally getting out of some old word clothes). We are so excited that Marc and Maria are coming over to Thailand.

It is your bad neighbor from across the street - for you many streets ago. I have been following your adventure and it sounds like heaven - especially now as you are settling in to that community. I am heading out on my own adventure - leaving for Beijing this Tuesday - in 4 days then will be in Bangkok on the 19th. Am planning on catching my breath there and then no plans as yet. How much is you room to rent??? After reading about the poopy playground story I am thinking the rent could be lowered??? That was very very funny. Maybe you can make some travel suggestions for the places you have been. I am going to head to Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos but want to spend a couple of weeks in the sun and let Vietnamese New Year pass and the weather to warm up a bit in Laos.
Really - I would love to know if it is easy to find a little place to rent for myself, how much and where do you suggest????
I am thrilled for y'all - doing this now. No use waiting to live your lives. You guys are an ispiration!!!!

dudes, sounds like you are having a good time. happy new year ! all is well here ... kim and i left for our vacation at just the right time ... a few weeks of minus 20 - 40. we're now getting afew chinooks - 13 degrees this weekend. hey, when are you guys scheduled to come back ? march ? not sure if i'll make it down to visit you guys ... so much on the go here. gotta run - drop me a line. cheers.
